Courtney Freckleton, also known by his stage name Nines, is a UK born rapper from Church Road, in Northwest London. He started his music career in 2012 with his debut album "From Church Road to Hollywood", then released his next mixtape "Gone Till November" after serving an 18 month prison sentence. Nines is signed to XL recordings. An English independent record label which has worked with artists such as: Adele, Giggs, Wiley and The XX. Nines signed his deal with XL on the 6th of December 2016. He has collaborated with other rappers such as: J Hus, Skrapz and Tiggs Da Author, although he has not collaborated with other artists from XL recordings. The label has a strong ethos of " It's not what's on the outside, but what's on the outside." I.e: The artists personality. They have a simple but effective logo that reflects their simple but effective attitude. For example when founder, Richard Russell, said "Only sign artists you like, give them free rein, and have no regard for business."
